How rc debounce works

V1 represents a contact voltage that briefly rises and then returns low. R1 and C1 filter the pulse. Compare the peak with 30% and 70% supply thresholds, and allow the capacitor to settle before another event. Feed this slow edge to a Schmitt-trigger input in a practical design.

Vpk=V1(1−e−tb/(R1C1))V_{pk}=V_1(1-e^{-t_b/(R_1C_1)})

A single positive bounce pulse from an initially low input; nominal 30%/70% logic thresholds. Repeated bounce can accumulate charge. This RC network alone does not guarantee a clean digital transition.
