About this circuit
DC operating-point demo showing AD633 multiply two grounded differential inputs into a scaled output voltage.
Circuit notes
AD633 Analog Multiplier Static Product Demo
Application
This circuit uses the AD633 as a simple four-quadrant analog multiplier. X1 is driven to 1 V, Y1 is driven to 2 V, and the X2, Y2, and Z reference inputs are grounded.
Design Context
The AD633 output follows the scaled product relationship W = (X1 - X2) * (Y1 - Y2) / 10 + Z. The 10 kOhm load gives the output a visible measurement point without dominating the macromodel.
Expected Behavior
The operating-point table should show Vw near 0.2 V for the 1 V by 2 V input product.
Suggested Experiments
- Change VX1 or VY1 and confirm Vw follows the product.
- Drive one input negative to see the output polarity reverse.
- Raise Z above ground to add output offset.
Featured Component
AD633 Analog Multiplier is the four-quadrant multiplier. Its X, Y, Z, and W pins make the product and output offset relationship visible in the schematic.
