# AD1580 Shunt Reference Bias Current Operating Point ## Application This circuit uses AD1580 as a two-terminal shunt reference biased from a 5 V supply. It is a compact reference-node pattern for ADC inputs, comparator thresholds, or low-current precision bias points. ## Design Context VIN feeds RBIAS, and RBIAS supplies current into the VREF node. U1 clamps the VREF node through its cathode/anode terminals, RLOAD provides a light external load, and all returns join the single bottom return bus with one ground reference. ## Expected Behavior Vref should settle near 1.225 V when RBIAS supplies enough current for both the shunt reference and the load.
