About this circuit

# REF02 Trim Reference Feeding an ADC Reference Input ## Application This circuit uses REF02 Voltage Reference as a 5 V precision reference feeding an ADC-reference load. It is a practical starting point for systems that need a fixed reference with an optional trim terminal. ## Design Context VIN is set to 10 V and feeds U1 from the left. VOUT drives RLOAD on the right, GND returns to the bottom bus, and the TRIM terminal is parked on the same return bus so the untrimmed reference output is easy to inspect. ## Expected Behavior Vout should settle near 5 V. With RLOAD at 10K, the output load current is about 0.5 mA, and the operating-point table shows both input headroom and the reference output. ## Key Values - VIN: 10 V DC input supply. - RLOAD: 10K reference load. - TRIM: parked on the return bus for the untrimmed operating point. - Expected output: about 5 V at Vout. ## Suggested Experiments - Change RLOAD to compare light and heavier reference loading. - Lower VIN toward the output voltage to inspect input-headroom behavior. - Replace the parked TRIM connection with a trim network and compare the Vout row. ## Featured Component REF02 Voltage Reference is the trim-capable voltage reference under test. The demo highlights the standard VIN, GND, VOUT, and TRIM pins used in a fixed-reference application.
