About this component

Compact educational four-bit DAC with unipolar straight-binary inputs (D0 LSB, D3 MSB). Its ideal transfer is VOUT=VREF×code/16, so one LSB is VREF/16 and code 1111 is one LSB below VREF; the configurable series output resistance exposes loading and RC reconstruction behavior.

Parameters

Conversion
1 parameter
ParameterNameDescriptionDefault

VREF

Reference voltage

Positive reference used by VOUT=ReferenceVoltage multiplied by code divided by 16.

5 V

Logic levels
1 parameter
ParameterNameDescriptionDefault

VTH

Input threshold

Voltage at or above which each code input is interpreted as logic high.

2.5 V

Output
1 parameter
ParameterNameDescriptionDefault

ROUT

Output resistance

Series resistance between the ideal code voltage and VOUT; it exposes DAC loading and reconstruction-filter behavior.
