How delta to wye works

Replace the closed delta network with three arms meeting at a star point. Each wye arm equals the product of the two delta resistors touching that terminal, divided by the sum of all three delta resistances. All three terminal-pair resistances are preserved with the unused terminal open.

RA=R1R3R1+R2+R3R_A=\frac{R_1R_3}{R_1+R_2+R_3}

Ideal resistors. R1 connects A–B, R2 connects B–C, and R3 connects A–C. A fixed 1 V source tests A–B in the original delta circuit. Try in CircuitSim opens that editable delta circuit.

Change the form inputs or click a component value on the schematic. Choose Try in CircuitSim to simulate the configured circuit.
