How capacitive reactance works
A capacitor opposes changing voltage. Its reactance decreases as frequency or capacitance increases. Current leads voltage by 90° for an ideal capacitor.
Ideal capacitor; ESR, leakage and parasitic inductance are excluded. AC amplitudes use peak values.
