How transimpedance amplifier works

The current source injects current into the inverting summing node. R1 converts it to a negative output voltage. C1 in parallel with R1 rolls off high-frequency transimpedance. This simple model does not calculate compensation for detector capacitance or a specific op amp.

Vout=−I1R1V_{out}=-I_1R_1

Ideal op-amp equations with ±15 V supplies. The simulated generic op amp has finite bandwidth and output limits. Keep signal levels within its linear range.
